Action Plans are key to implementing the Management Plan. Through the implementation of the projects included therein, the plan aims to achieve 12 strategic goals.
4 Action Plans to achieve the strategic goals, identified through an important process of consultation and concerted action, between the involved bodies and the local communities (municipalities, associations, and citizens).
Action Plan 1 – Protection and conservation of heritage
To protect and promote archaeological goods and the architectural, urban, and landscape heritage.
Objective 1: protect, recover and enhance human settlements (urban fabrics, rural architecture), the environment and the lagoon landscape
Objective 2: protect, recover and enhance the architectural archaelogical, historical, artistic, ethno-anthropological, archival and book heritage
Action Plan 2 – Sustainable use of the Site
To develop the local economic system, sustainable tourism, and alternative mobility
Objective 3: rebuild the socio-economic fabric of historic centres and expand residential areas
Objective 4: rationalise tourist flows by developing complementary forms of traditional tourism (cultural tourism to discover "minor" Venice, the lagoon, rural areas, farm tourism, environmentally-friendly tourism, sport-related tourism, etc.)
Objective 5: preserve and support productive occupational activities, traditional productions and promote new compatible activities with the Site characteristics
Objective 6: improve accessibility, mobility and the transport system within the Site by encouraging alternative slow mobility solutions
Objective 7: develop urban and periurbane agricolture, city orchards and on minor islands, to protect productive agricoltural areas, avoid depopulation of rural areas and promote the development of rural tourism
Action Plan 3 – Communication, promotion and training
To spread the Site's universal values and promote activities and human resources
Objective 8: develop a widespread awareness of universal values of the Site and active forms of dialogue, participation and actors' involvement (citizens, users, economic operators, tourists)
Objective 9: coordinate and promote cultural and marketing territorial initiatives reffered to the Site
Objective 10: enhance human resources by strengthening and integrating training and research systems for environmental and cultural heritage
Action Plan 4 – Knowledge and sharing
To share and spread research and promote the unity of the services supplied to users
Objective 11: create a cordination system to share and disseminate researches, surveys and data produced by institutional bodies and to identify new topics to be developed
Objective 12: promote joint and standardized services offered by the bodies present on the territory in order to enjoy the cultural heritage via the net, by supporting the dissamination of international interoperability and content accessibility standards
