Monitoring
An integral part of the Management Plan is the monitoring of the Macro Emergencies of the Site and the projects planned in the Action Plans. Three types of indicators will therefore be used: status, pressure and result. The monitoring of Macro Emergencies identifies status and pressure indicators with the objective of measuring the quality of the most significant natural components of the territory (water, air, soil and subsoil) and the impacts of human activities on such components. This approach therefore allows to assess the state of health of the lagoon environment to be monitored and action to be taken, when necessary, to reduce or eliminate factors of environmental hazards. The indicators for the monitoring of results should be used to assess the usefulness and effectiveness of actions undertaken in the framework of the Action Plans and, if necessary, for a review of the Strategic Objectives, actions or planned actions. This phase consists of verification of the management process and assessment of procedures and actions, in order to enable the necessary adjustments to be made in case of distortions, and assist the implementation of any changes or improvements that might be required.
