Diversified proposals for tours
Diversified proposals for tours to enjoy the site in its complexity
The project has the aim of identifying the potential and opportunities for economic development that may be generated by enhancing the value of places, crafts, and typical local products with the double purpose of increasing the attractiveness of the lagoon coastal area and, at the same time, intercepting the tourism flows that today revolve around the city of Venice and its coast.
The creation of a statistical, informative and geo-referential database helped to structure the interconnections and potential in the area of study by means of a map overlay system. This information was then processed and represented in a statistical atlas containing the detailed data of each municipality and in an atlas of territorial marketing strategy and its respective business plan. The results of the updated and meticulous collection of statistical data on a municipal level were publicly discussed in meetings both with the local stakeholders (thematic tables held on October 16th, 2013 and January 31st, 2014) and with the partners of the European SUSTCULT project (workshop in Veszprém, Hungary, about the best practices in the integrated management of the cultural heritage, October 30th, 2013).
-The project is inserted as a system project in the 2012-2018 Management Plan with reference to the Action Plan “Sustainable Enjoyment”.
The research was conducted by the company Theorema s.r.l., which worked in close collaboration with the UNESCO Site Office of the Municipality of Venice and which published its results with the subjects responsible for the Site.
The project was launched in August 2013 and funded by the European SUSTCULT project. It was concluded in 2014. Abstract-Atlante Presentation of the project Agenda_SUSTCULT_Workshop_Veszprem
